Trial Consultants

In our firm, a trial consultant has the responsibility of working under the direction of a senior trial consultant assigned to a particular case while at the same time assuming significant client development and management responsibilities. The trial consultant, along with the other members of our professional team share responsibility for making sure that each of our trial attorney and corporate clients receive the highest level of service available in our profession. Because clients expect us to provide them with service and advice that is based in scientific research as well as practical experience in the courtroom, the trial consultant must have substantial education and training in trial advocacy as well as applied scientific social science research.

We place a high premium on graduate level practitioners who also are trained and experienced in multiple disciplines, such as psychology and law. The trial consultant in our firm also has immediate responsibility for planning and implementation of aggressive client development and public education efforts and continually promoting the firm's services. In addition, the trial consultant has the obligation to earn the confidence of our clients and making sure that the ideals of The Advocates are upheld.

Because of the demands of our work and the needs of our clients, we have found that the following academic and experiential backgrounds are required for trial consultant applicants to our firm:

  • Masters Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Communications, or another social science,

  • Additional graduate level training in a field related to advocacy is preferred,

  • More than 3 years experience in trial consulting, trial advocacy, or forensic psychology,

  • Experience and a successful track record of developing and pleasing trial attorneys and corporate counsel who have demanding litigation needs,

  • More than 3 years experience in designing and conducting social science research, and

  • Proven ability to help a client solve difficult litigation problems.
